This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Jersey City is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Jersey City follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I struggled several months to write this review because I really wanted it to be a good one. However, I feel that the storytelling succeeded where the food itself fell short. Wipes were provided with βEAT WITH YOUR HANDSβ stickers on, but they were heavily scented. Some dishes were unevenly salty. Certain ingredients tasted off. Beef was way too tough to be called ready. In the Murgir Roast, one of the highlights of the night, my companion and I were served two chicken legs that tasted the opposite: one was juicy and tender while the other dry, stringy, and slightly funky. They kept joking about how much food there was, and at the end I started to feel that it was probably because only the quantity could justify the (inconsistent, occasionally poor) quality. Yes. It was a lot of food, but with how much you paid, it was pretty standard in the area or if you go to Jackson Heights. The difference is that you are trying everything all at once (enough for someone to decide theyβve learned everything about Bangladeshi cuisine and never need to eat it again?) vs. having the option to pace yourself and coming close to the community, the people, and their food multiple times. Absolutely one of the best dining experiences Iβve had! Every single dish was outstanding - packed with flavor, incredibly comforting, and the kind of food that feels like a warm hug. It struck the perfect balance of being beautifully executed while still tasting like an amazing home-cooked meal. The biggest surprise? The portions! Iβve been to plenty of set coursed dinner restaurants where youβre hungry again an hour later and end up grabbing a slice of pizza on the way home. That was definitely not the case here. There was so much food that everyone in our group left completely satisfied and even had leftovers to take home, which is almost unheard of for a set coursed meal. The service was just as incredible as the food. Every single person on the staff was genuinely kind, warm, and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Special shoutout to Nur-E and Amma for making us feel so welcome and cooking up a fantastic meal. Amazing food, generous portions, and some of the friendliest hospitality weβve experienced. I canβt wait to come back and will be recommending it to everyone! Note: The pictures donβt do this meal justice - these are only some of th

Absolutely incredible. The food, atmosphere, and service are impeccable. I went for their dawat, and it wasnβt just dinner, it was an authentic Bangladeshi feast with Nori, the owner of the restaurant, guiding us through each course that her mother, the chef, prepared for us. Thereβs about 8 to 10 courses and the dawat lasts 3 hours. I know it sounds like a commitment, but itβs worth it. Itβs such a generous and beautiful experience that celebrates the delicious flavors of Bangladeshi cuisine and the hospitality of its people. Thank you so much for having us Korai Kitchen!

I cannot say enough about the food! It is incredible! Every part of the experience from making the reservation, to confirming, to arriving was smooth and efficient, Nur-E called me to confirmed my large group and walked me through everything I needed to know about the Dawat. Once we arrived, our group of 7 was welcomed with open arms, Nur-E and her mother and staff were incredible! Once all the diners were at the restaurant, we embarked on a culinary journey that was, first of all, delicious, but also informative, immersive, and overwhelming (in a very good way!). My group is already talking about going back, and the members of our party that live in NJ (mixed group from nyc and NJ) are already talking about ordering Korai for takeout during the week. I am going to recommend this restaurant to everyone I know, specifically the dawat service. I was blown away by every aspect of this meal.. Easily one of the best dining experiences Iβve ever had!!

Such a great experience! The food was absolutely phenomenal- I ordered on Sunday for takeout- I ordered the chicken curry and the Sunday breakfast special, which was excellent. They were quite busy when I arrived to pick up my food and it took a little bit longer, but it was well worth the wait. Which stood up to me most with the hospitality, even though it was a carry out order- A handwritten note was left with my food, apologizing for the wait; and they shared an extra little bite of lentils, which were also delicious. To me, this is true hospitality. They also wrote a nice note on the outside the bag saying eat with your hands and to enjoy the food and thanked me for coming. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant which also offers a tasting menu on Friday and Saturday nights. I am now a lifelong customer.
